Alumni and Associates
Alumni and Associates
Alumni and Associates are former members of Future Homemakers of America, New Homemakers of America, FCCLA, honorary FHA/HERO members, current and former family and consumer sciences professionals, teachers, parents, school administrators, employers and business and community leaders. Alumni and Associates are part of a network of adults who believe in FCCLA and its mission and purposes.
Alumni and Associates are called upon to serve in several capacities on the local, district, state and Regional Levels:
Advocacy: Former members and supporters serve as a "mouthpiece" to members of the community and the public at large in relaying the efficacy and importance of the organization. These individuals have first-hand knowledge of the benefits reaped by membership and participation in FCCLA. As leaders in their chosen careers, communities, families and other organizations, these individuals possess profound potential in augmenting support for FCCLA financially, programmatically, and otherwise. In addition, as voting members of municipalities, counties, states, and nation, Alumni & Associates collectively harness electoral capital that can be utilized to maintain and increase support of the organization in the legislative arena.
Fundraising: Some Alumni groups in states serve as a "booster club" of sorts, raising money for scholarships and national competitive event fees.
Mentors: Adopting a local or state chapter to assist with competitive event preparation, and community service projects allows Alumni and Associates to take an active part in giving back to their organization and local community.
Evaluator: Serve as a competitive event judge on the local , district and state levels.
