HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education (HSTE) Division of ACTE.
HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA Partnership.

Career-Technical Education Day at the NM Legislature
The National Executive Counmcil, led by National President Michael Brode, and the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors, chaired by Mark Burley, request your support and help in achieving an unprecedented 24th consecutive year of membership growth. The goal of 100,000 members is behind us and the 2009-10 Executive Council has challenged HOSA chapters to reach a goal of 115,000 members!
HOSA provides two opportunities for special chapter recognition, including:
HOSA 100 Club. Chapters that submit their paid affiliation fees by October 15 will be recognized as members of the HOSA 100 Club and will be listed in the HOSA Spring E-Magazine.
HOSA 100% Affiliation Club. Chapters that affiliate 100% of their Health Science enrolled students with HOSA will be recognized as a member of the HOSA 100% Affiliation Club and will be listed on the HOSA web site.

National Competitive Events Program
MRC Partnership has been added as an event to the Emergency Preparedness Category. The MRC partnership event is designed to encourage HOSA chapter to initiate and maintain a partnership with the Medical Reserve Corps. The partnershp will promote and support the mission of HOSA, the mission of the Medical Reserve Corps and the priorities of the United States Surgeon General. The event will consist of the implementation and documentation of partnership activities that contribute to strong, healthy and prepared communities.
Administrative Medical Assisting and Medical Assisting Clinical have been combined into one event called Medical Assisting.
One of HOSA's newest events, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, attracted a large number of competitors at NLC 2009. Look for the following information in your affiliation packet to assist with your chapter's activities!

HOSA membership experienced double digit-growth last year and we need your chapter and state associations help to achieve our 2009-2010 membership goal - 115,000 health science students benefiting from HOSA's affiliation servies. More than 6,300 members, advisors, corporate partners and guests experienced first-hand the largest and most successful NLC in Nashville, Tennessee. During the four HOSA filled days, ore than 4,300 skilled and talentented members took part in the HOSA National Competitive Events Program. In addition to the 57 competitive events, members and advisors took part in Leadership Academies, over forty educational workshops and four dynamic General Sessions led by the elected National Officers.
